A return that reflects your year

A new job, retirement, studies, a move or a change in family circumstances can affect the information needed to prepare your taxes. Tell us about the whole year, including income that does not appear on a tax slip. We review the records available and identify what is still needed before preparing your return.

Credits, deductions and supporting records

Our preparation work can include RRSP and FHSA contributions, tuition, medical expenses, charitable donations and childcare costs where applicable. Employment expense claims may require an employer-completed T2200 and a T777 calculation; having a T2200 does not by itself make every expense deductible. Moving expenses are reviewed against the applicable requirements.

Tax preparation for commission employees

We work with commissioned employees across industries, including sales, recruitment, automotive, financial services and other fields. Bring your T4 slips, commission statements, employment terms and details of reimbursements. Where an employment-expense claim is relevant, we review the employer documentation and supporting records against the applicable requirements.

Connected filings

Self-employment, rental properties, investments and foreign income may need additional schedules alongside your T1. Mention these at the start so the scope includes the relevant reporting. We can also discuss prior-year and no-income returns. Filing requirements and benefit eligibility depend on your circumstances.

Common questions

Before you get started

Could I be missing tax deductions or credits?

We review your income, household circumstances and records to identify eligible claims you may have overlooked.

Can you review a tax return I already filed?

Yes. In your first inquiry, tell us the tax year, the expense or issue you are concerned about, and whether you have received your notice of assessment. We can review the return and supporting records for eligible claims that may have been missed. We confirm the review and any adjustment work, including the fee, before starting.

What if I made a mistake on a tax return?

Tell us the tax year and describe the issue briefly. We can review the return and any CRA correspondence, then discuss the appropriate correction work. Keep detailed tax records for the document-sharing arrangements agreed after your initial inquiry.

Can I file if I had no income?

A return can still be relevant when income is low or nil, including for determining eligibility for certain benefits and credits. We can review the applicable year and your circumstances.

Can we prepare family members’ returns together?

We can discuss preparing related family returns so relevant information is coordinated. Each taxpayer’s return and authorization remain separate.
